Age distribution of Professional staff (8AB)Nineteen organizations report that in 2004, 60 per cent of their professional staff are 50 years or older. And in the vast majority of organizations (20 out of 28), twenty percent of professional staff are over 55 years of age. This means that in most organizations, a critical mass of professional staff – usually at the higher levels – will leave the organization in the next few years, thus underscoring the importance of organizational succession planning and knowledge management efforts. |
